:: Welcome to Mexico City

For some, Mexico City is nothing more than a stopping off point en route to other places within Mexico - but in many ways it encapsulates all that is Mexico, and makes for a fascinating and deserving introduction to this lively Central American country. It’s without doubt a city of contrasts: smog-filled streets lead to tranquil green parks, high-rise offices give way to colonial palaces, poor slums sprawl towards ancient ruins and beggars cross your path to world-class museums. Yet despite the city’s enormity the centre is quite compact, so you can take in much of it by foot – taking breaks for a delicious freshly-squeezed juice or ice-cold Margarita, of course – or simply jump in one of the ubiquitous green and white VW Beetle taxis and do it in style.

Cactus works with two Spanish schools in Mexico City, which offer slightly different course and accommodation options. Whichever school you choose to study at, you will meet people from all over the world on your course, and have plenty of opportunity to practise your Spanish during activities organised by the school and after class with friends that you meet on your course.
